About Monash University Foundation Year

The Foundation Year is a one-year program designed to prepare students for university study and is comparable with an Australian Year 12 qualification.

The program provides an academic bridge between the student's study in their home country and commencement of their undergraduate studies.

Students are guaranteed entry to the first-year of a Monash University undergraduate degree once they have satisfied the minimum academic and English language entry requirements.

The qualification is also well recognised by other Australian and overseas universities.

The Foundation Year is offered in Australia (Melbourne), China (Beijing) Indonesia (Jakarta), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru) and Sri Lanka (Colombo).
